The Consultant Dermatologist will play a key role in strengthening specialist skin care services by providing accurate diagnosis, personalized treatment planning, procedural dermatology, and patient education. The position requires strong clinical judgment, professional leadership, and the ability to manage both routine and complex skin conditions while collaborating with other healthcare professionals. The consultant will also guide medical staff, support safe clinical practice, and help patients improve skin health, confidence, and long-term wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and treat a broad range of dermatological conditions including acne, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, pigmentation concerns, fungal infections, allergic skin reactions, and suspected skin cancers.
* Conduct detailed skin examinations, assess patient history, identify risk factors, and recommend suitable diagnostic or treatment pathways.
* Perform skin biopsies and other dermatological procedures with attention to safety, accuracy, patient comfort, and appropriate follow-up care.
* Administer specialized treatments such as chemical peels, laser therapy, phototherapy, and other clinically approved dermatology interventions.
* Develop personalized treatment plans based on diagnosis, skin type, condition severity, patient expectations, and evidence-based dermatology protocols.
* Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans when needed to improve clinical outcomes and long-term skin health.
* Work with physicians, nurses, resident doctors, and allied healthcare professionals to manage patients with complex or overlapping medical conditions.
* Educate patients on skin care routines, sun protection, medication use, preventive measures, treatment risks, and realistic recovery expectations.
* Stay current with dermatology research, emerging technologies, advanced treatment techniques, and international best practices.
* Train, mentor, and supervise medical staff including resident physicians and nurses involved in dermatology care.
* Maintain accurate consultation notes, procedure records, consent documentation, treatment plans, and follow-up reports.
* Ensure all clinical work follows patient safety standards, ethical medical practice, confidentiality requirements, and UAE healthcare regulations.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree from an accredited institution.
* Board certification in Dermatology.
* Minimum 5 years of experience working as a Consultant Dermatologist.
* Western education or Western clinical training is required.
* Strong knowledge of medical dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, procedural dermatology, and skin cancer assessment.
* Experienced in treating common and complex skin conditions including acne, eczema, psoriasis, inflammatory skin diseases, infections, pigmentation issues, and suspicious lesions.
