Role Context
The Consultant - Dermatology will provide expert assessment and treatment for patients with a wide range of skin, hair, nail, and dermatologic conditions. The position combines clinical diagnosis, procedural care, preventive education, follow-up management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare teams. The consultant will contribute to a patient-centered dermatology service in Dubai by offering evidence-based care, strong communication, and safe clinical practice.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and manage a wide range of dermatological conditions through physical examination, patient history review, clinical assessment, and appropriate investigations.
* Conduct diagnostic tests and dermatology procedures to support accurate diagnosis and effective treatment planning.
* Develop personalized treatment plans based on patient needs, medical history, skin condition, risk factors, and evidence-based dermatology practice.
* Perform minor surgical procedures such as skin biopsies, lesion excisions, suturing, and related dermatological interventions when clinically required.
* Prescribe medications, topical treatments, procedural care plans, and follow-up instructions according to patient condition and clinical standards.
* Educate patients on skin care, prevention, treatment adherence, sun protection, chronic skin disease management, and long-term dermatology care.
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated treatment for patients with complex or related medical needs.
* Stay updated with current dermatology advances, treatment techniques, diagnostic methods, and patient safety standards.
* Maintain accurate consultation notes, diagnosis records, procedure documentation, prescriptions, and follow-up plans.
* Follow ethical, professional, regulatory, and hospital standards in all areas of dermatology practice.
* Support continuous improvement in service quality, patient experience, and clinical outcomes.
* Participate in professional development, conferences, training, and internal learning activities when required.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree in Dermatology or equivalent recognized medical qualification.
* Board certification, fellowship, or equivalent recognized qualification in Dermatology.
* Valid medical license or eligibility to practice as a Consultant Dermatologist in Dubai.
* Minimum 5 years of experience as a Consultant Dermatologist in a reputable healthcare facility.
* Proven experience diagnosing and treating a broad range of skin conditions in outpatient and clinical settings.
* Strong procedural ability in skin biopsies, excisions, suturing, and minor dermatologic surgery.
* Good understanding of current dermatology practices, treatment protocols, patient safety, and ethical medical standards.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-focused approach.
* Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
* Strong organizational ability, time management, documentation standards, and clinical decision-making skills.
* Able to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining care quality and professionalism.
* Fluency in English is required, while Arabic language skills will be an advantage.
