Role Context
The Consultant - Dermatology will provide expert diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management for patients with a wide range of skin, hair, nail, and cosmetic dermatology concerns. The role requires strong clinical judgment, procedural skill, leadership ability, and a compassionate approach to patient care. Working within Dubai’s advanced healthcare environment, the consultant will support comprehensive dermatology services by combining accurate skin assessment, advanced treatment planning, patient education, and collaboration with multidisciplinary clinical teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and treat a broad range of dermatological conditions, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, pigmentation concerns, hair disorders, nail conditions, and suspected skin cancer.
* Perform complete skin examinations, dermoscopic assessments, biopsies, and other dermatology procedures where clinically required.
* Administer specialized treatments such as chemical peels, laser therapy, phototherapy, and other evidence-based dermatological interventions.
* Develop personalized treatment plans based on patient history, skin type, diagnosis, clinical severity, lifestyle factors, and treatment goals.
* Manage patients with complex or chronic skin conditions through follow-up care, treatment adjustment, and preventive counselling.
* Collaborate with physicians, nurses, cosmetic specialists, surgeons, oncologists, and other healthcare professionals for patients requiring integrated care.
* Educate patients on skin care routines, medication use, sun protection, prevention strategies, treatment expectations, and long-term skin health.
* Stay updated with the latest dermatology research, procedural techniques, treatment technologies, and clinical best practices.
* Train and supervise medical staff, including resident physicians, nurses, and support teams involved in dermatology care.
* Maintain accurate consultation notes, procedure records, biopsy documentation, treatment plans, consent forms, and follow-up records.
* Support high standards of patient safety, infection control, ethical practice, clinical governance, and service quality.
* Contribute to a professional, empathetic, and well-organized dermatology service focused on patient trust and strong clinical outcomes.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree from an accredited institution.
* Board certification in Dermatology or an equivalent recognized consultant-level dermatology qualification.
* Minimum 5 years of experience as a Consultant Dermatologist.
* Western education or Western training is required.
* Strong knowledge of medical, procedural, and cosmetic dermatology.
* In-depth experience diagnosing and treating acne, eczema, psoriasis, skin cancer, inflammatory skin disease, and other dermatological conditions.
* Skilled in skin examinations, biopsies, laser therapy, chemical peels, phototherapy, and personalized treatment planning.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain treatment options clearly to patients.
* Strong leadership and organizational abilities with experience supervising clinical staff.
