The Consultant -
Dermatology will deliver expert-level care for patients with common, chronic, complex, and cosmetic skin concerns while supporting high standards of safety, confidentiality, and clinical quality. The role requires strong diagnostic skill, procedural confidence, ethical aesthetic judgment, and the ability to guide patients through treatment options with clarity and empathy. Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose, manage, and treat a wide range of dermatological conditions including acne, eczema, psoriasis, vitiligo, dermatitis, skin infections, pigmentation disorders, hair loss, nail disease, and suspected skin cancers.
* Perform detailed skin examinations, dermoscopy assessments, lesion reviews, skin biopsies, and other diagnostic procedures to support accurate clinical decision-making.
* Carry out advanced dermatological treatments such as laser therapy, chemical peels, cryotherapy, phototherapy, and minor dermatologic procedures where clinically appropriate.
* Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient history, clinical findings, disease severity, cosmetic goals, safety considerations, and evidence-based dermatology guidelines.
* Provide high standards of patient care, clinical safety, confidentiality, consent management, infection control, and ethical medical practice.
* Educate patients on skincare, sun protection, medication use, procedure aftercare, prevention strategies, chronic skin disease control, and long-term management.
* Collaborate with other medical specialties including oncology, rheumatology, allergy, plastic surgery, pathology, endocrinology, and primary care for complex dermatology cases.
* Supervise, train, and mentor junior doctors, residents, nurses, and clinical support staff involved in dermatology care and procedures.
* Stay updated with the latest developments in dermatology, aesthetic medicine, laser technologies, biologic therapies, skin cancer care, and procedural techniques.
* Participate in clinical governance, departmental audits, morbidity reviews, quality improvement initiatives, and patient-safety programs.
* Maintain accurate consultation notes, dermoscopy findings, biopsy records, procedure documentation, consent forms, treatment plans, follow-up records, and medical reports.
* Support efficient clinic workflows, safe use of dermatology equipment, proper patient preparation, and structured follow-up care.
* Communicate clearly with patients about diagnosis, treatment choices, procedure risks, expected outcomes, recovery timelines, and realistic aesthetic results.
* Contribute to a professional and multicultural clinical environment focused on high-quality patient experience and continuous service development.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree such as MBBS or equivalent from a recognized and accredited medical institution.
* Board certification in Dermatology is mandatory.
* Minimum 5 years of experience as a Consultant Dermatologist.
* Strong clinical experience in medical dermatology and cosmetic dermatology.
* Proficiency in dermatological procedures, modern treatment techniques, skin examinations, dermoscopy, biopsies, laser therapy, chemical peels, cryotherapy, and phototherapy.
* Western education or clinical training is highly preferred and may be required depending on licensing authority.
