The role involves accurate diagnosis, treatment planning, medication management, patient education, and follow-up care for individuals requiring long-term endocrine support.
This position has strong clinical value in Dubai’s specialist healthcare market, where demand continues to grow for diabetes care, thyroid management, metabolic health services, and culturally sensitive Arabic patient communication. The consultant will help patients understand their conditions, improve treatment adherence, and manage complex endocrine issues with confidence and continuity.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and manage endocrine disorders, including diabetes, thyroid disease, adrenal disorders, pituitary conditions, hormonal imbalance, metabolic syndrome, and related endocrine concerns.
* Conduct detailed endocrine consultations, including medical history review, physical examination, risk assessment, medication review, and long-term disease evaluation.
* Develop personalized treatment plans using evidence-based protocols, patient-specific clinical data, lifestyle factors, laboratory findings, and imaging results.
* Interpret hormonal assays, endocrine laboratory results, imaging findings, and diagnostic reports to support accurate clinical decision-making.
* Conduct or supervise endocrine-related procedures and clinical assessments where appropriate to patient care requirements.
* Provide culturally sensitive counselling and patient education in Arabic, helping patients understand diagnosis, treatment options, medication use, lifestyle changes, and follow-up needs.
* Collaborate with internal medicine, diabetes educators, dietitians, radiologists, surgeons, nurses, and other specialists to ensure integrated patient care.
* Monitor treatment response, adjust therapy when needed, and support patients with chronic endocrine conditions through structured follow-up.
* Participate in clinical audits, research activities, continuing medical education, and service improvement initiatives.
* Maintain accurate consultation notes, investigation summaries, treatment plans, medication records, and follow-up documentation.
* Follow DHA regulations, ethical standards, patient safety protocols, confidentiality requirements, and evidence-based clinical guidelines.
Ideal Profile
* MD or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
* American Board Certification in Endocrinology is required.
* Fluency in Arabic, both spoken and written, is essential.
* Strong English communication skills for clinical documentation, multidisciplinary collaboration, and patient care coordination.
* Minimum 5 years of post-board experience in a hospital, specialty clinic, or advanced endocrine care setting.
* Strong clinical expertise in diabetes management, thyroid disorders, adrenal disease, pituitary disorders, endocrine testing, and metabolic medicine.
* Ability to explain complex endocrine conditions clearly to patients and families in a culturally sensitive manner.
* Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and managing patients with chronic, complex, or overlapping medical conditions.
* Active DHA license or eligibility for Dubai Health Authority consultant licensure is preferred.
