Role Context
The Consultant Endocrinologist plays a critical role in managing patients with complex endocrine and metabolic disorders requiring specialist expertise, precise diagnosis, and long-term monitoring. This position strengthens healthcare excellence by improving outcomes in diabetes, thyroid disease, pituitary disorders, and metabolic conditions while leading endocrine clinics and supporting multidisciplinary patient care pathways.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver specialized care for endocrine disorders including diabetes, thyroid disease, pituitary disorders, adrenal disease, metabolic bone disorders, obesity, and reproductive endocrinology conditions
* Lead outpatient endocrine clinics and manage inpatient endocrine consultations for complex medical cases
* Interpret and supervise advanced endocrine diagnostic testing including dynamic hormone testing, laboratory analysis, and imaging review
* Develop individualized treatment plans aligned with international endocrine and diabetes management guidelines
* Collaborate with surgery, radiology, oncology, nephrology, nutrition, and internal medicine teams for integrated patient management
* Support diabetes education and endocrine awareness programs for patients, families, and healthcare staff
* Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, and clinical governance activities
* Supervise residents, fellows, and junior physicians while supporting teaching and specialist mentoring
* Participate in on-call duties and urgent endocrine case management as required by the department
* Engage in clinical research, audits, and continuous professional development to maintain high standards of endocrine care
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree such as MBBS, MD, or equivalent from a recognized institution
* Board Certification in Endocrinology or Internal Medicine with subspecialty training in Endocrinology
* Fellowship or advanced specialist training from a recognized international institution
* Minimum three to five years of post-qualification experience in endocrinology practice
* Strong expertise in diabetes care and management of complex endocrine and metabolic disorders
* Proven experience in multidisciplinary care and high-volume specialist clinical environments
* Excellent communication, leadership, and patient counseling abilities
* Eligibility for specialist licensing within UAE healthcare authority standards
