Role Context
The Consultant - Endocrinology will diagnose, treat, and manage patients with a wide range of endocrine and metabolic disorders. The role requires advanced clinical judgment, Arabic and English communication skills, careful interpretation of hormonal assays and imaging, and close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. The consultant will support patients with chronic and complex conditions through accurate diagnosis, personalized treatment, education, long-term monitoring, and culturally aware care in Dubai’s specialist healthcare sector.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and manage endocrine conditions including diabetes, thyroid disorders, adrenal disease, pituitary disorders, metabolic conditions, hormonal imbalance, and related complications.
* Develop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based protocols, patient history, laboratory results, imaging findings, and long-term clinical goals.
* Provide specialist consultations for complex endocrine cases in outpatient and hospital-based settings.
* Interpret hormonal assays, endocrine laboratory investigations, imaging reports, and diagnostic findings to guide accurate treatment decisions.
* Conduct endocrine-related procedures and assessments where clinically required and within approved scope of practice.
* Provide culturally sensitive care and patient education in Arabic, helping patients understand diagnosis, treatment options, medication use, lifestyle changes, and follow-up needs.
* Collaborate with internal medicine physicians, diabetologists, dietitians, radiologists, surgeons, nurses, pharmacists, and other specialists for integrated patient care.
* Monitor treatment progress, adjust medication plans, manage complications, and ensure continuity of care for chronic endocrine conditions.
* Maintain accurate clinical documentation, consultation notes, investigation reviews, treatment plans, consent records, and follow-up reports.
* Participate in clinical audits, research activity, CME programs, multidisciplinary meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Follow DHA requirements, clinical governance standards, ethical practice, confidentiality rules, and patient safety protocols.
* Support a patient-centered care environment focused on trust, education, prevention, and long-term health outcomes.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree such as MD, MBBS, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
* American Board Certification in Endocrinology.
* Fluency in Arabic, spoken and written, is required.
* Strong English communication skills for multidisciplinary clinical coordination.
* Eligibility for Dubai Health Authority Consultant licensure.
* Minimum 5 years of post-board experience in a hospital, specialty clinic, or advanced endocrine care setting.
* Strong clinical expertise in diabetes, thyroid disease, adrenal disorders, pituitary disease, hormonal disorders, and metabolic medicine.
* Ability to interpret hormonal assays, endocrine imaging, and complex diagnostic findings with confidence.
* Excellent patient communication skills with the ability to explain chronic disease management clearly and compassionately.
* Experience working with culturally diverse or Arabic-speaking patient populations is highly valuable.
* Strong teamwork, clinical judgment, documentation, and follow-up planning skills.
