Role Context
The Consultant - Endocrinology will provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient
endocrine care for patients with hormonal, metabolic, and diabetes-related conditions. The role requires strong diagnostic judgment, advanced interpretation of endocrine investigations, long-term disease management planning, and close collaboration with internal medicine, nephrology, cardiology, bariatric care, dietetics, nursing, and allied healthcare teams. The consultant will help strengthen endocrine services in Dubai by improving patient outcomes through accurate diagnosis, modern treatment pathways, preventive counselling, and consistent follow-up care.
Core Duties
* Diagnose and manage endocrine disorders including diabetes mellitus, thyroid diseases, adrenal disorders, pituitary disorders, osteoporosis, obesity, and metabolic conditions.
* Conduct comprehensive endocrine evaluations using clinical history, physical examination, hormonal testing, metabolic investigations, imaging results, and risk assessment.
* Interpret laboratory results and endocrine investigations to guide accurate diagnosis, treatment decisions, and long-term monitoring.
* Develop individualized treatment plans for patients with acute, chronic, and complex endocrine conditions.
* Manage inpatient and outpatient endocrinology consultations, including referrals from internal medicine, surgery, emergency care, and specialist departments.
* Provide advanced diabetes management including insulin therapy, oral medication review, continuous glucose monitoring, lifestyle counselling, and complication prevention.
* Support patients with thyroid nodules, thyroid dysfunction, adrenal insufficiency, pituitary disease, calcium disorders, bone health concerns, and obesity-related metabolic risks.
* Collaborate with internal medicine physicians, nephrologists, cardiologists, dietitians, bariatric teams, nurses, pharmacists, and other multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.
* Educate patients and families on disease prevention, medication adherence, nutrition, physical activity, glucose monitoring, long-term risks, and lifestyle modification.
* Maintain accurate medical documentation, consultation notes, treatment plans, test interpretations, follow-up recommendations, and patient education records.
* Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, research activity, case reviews, and continuing medical education programs.
* Ensure practice standards align with patient safety policies, infection control requirements, hospital protocols, and international clinical guidelines.
Required Skills and Experience
* Medical degree from a recognized institution.
* Specialist qualification, fellowship, board certification, or equivalent recognized training in Endocrinology.
* Eligibility for Consultant licensure with Dubai Health Authority or relevant UAE healthcare licensing authority.
* Consultant-level experience in endocrinology within a hospital, specialist clinic, or tertiary care environment.
* Strong expertise in diabetes management, thyroid disease, adrenal disorders, pituitary conditions, obesity, osteoporosis, and metabolic medicine.
