Role Context
The Consultant ENT Specialist plays a critical role in diagnosing, treating, and managing disorders affecting the ear, nose, throat, head, and neck. This position strengthens hospital excellence by providing advanced surgical interventions, improving patient quality of life, and supporting comprehensive multidisciplinary care across complex ENT cases.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and treat ENT conditions including sinusitis, otitis media, hearing loss, vertigo, sleep apnea, voice disorders, and head and neck tumors
* Perform advanced ENT surgical procedures such as tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, septoplasty, functional endoscopic sinus surgery, microscopic ear surgery, and laryngoscopy
* Manage head and neck reconstructive procedures and complex otolaryngology surgical cases
* Interpret CT scans, MRI studies, audiograms, nasal endoscopy, and other ENT diagnostic investigations
* Provide outpatient consultations and inpatient care with strong focus on evidence-based treatment planning
* Collaborate with audiologists, speech therapists, neurologists, oncologists, and other specialists for integrated patient management
* Support both adult and pediatric ENT services with safe and effective clinical care
* Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with DHA regulations and hospital governance standards
* Participate in clinical audits, continuous medical education programs, and departmental protocol development
* Mentor junior physicians and contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Ideal Profile
* Board certification in Otolaryngology such as American Board, Royal College, or equivalent qualification
* Minimum five years of post-specialization experience in a tertiary care or academic hospital setting
* Strong expertise in both adult and pediatric ENT diagnosis and surgical treatment
* Proven experience in advanced ENT surgical procedures and head and neck management
* Excellent diagnostic, communication, and leadership abilities
* Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary specialist healthcare teams
* Commitment to continuous professional development and high patient safety standards
* Eligibility for specialist licensing within UAE healthcare authority standards
