Role Context
The Consultant - ENT Surgery will manage complex otolaryngology cases involving sinus disease, ear disorders, hearing concerns, airway issues, voice conditions, sleep-related breathing problems, and head and neck pathology. The position requires confident clinical judgment, refined surgical capability, careful interpretation of diagnostic investigations, and close coordination with audiology, speech therapy, radiology, anesthesia, pediatrics, oncology, and other specialty teams. The consultant will contribute to high-quality ENT services in Dubai by improving patient outcomes, supporting clinical governance, and helping maintain modern standards of specialist hospital care.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and manage a broad range of ENT conditions, including sinusitis, otitis media, hearing loss, sleep apnea, voice disorders, airway concerns, and head and neck tumors.
* Provide expert outpatient consultations and inpatient care for both adult and pediatric ENT patients.
* Perform ENT surgical procedures such as tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, septoplasty, laryngoscopy, and functional endoscopic sinus surgery.
* Carry out microscopic ear surgery and support advanced treatment for ear, hearing, and balance-related disorders.
* Manage selected head and neck surgical cases, including reconstructive procedures when clinically indicated.
* Interpret CT scans, MRI reports, audiograms, endoscopic findings, and other diagnostic evaluations to guide treatment decisions.
* Develop individualized care plans based on patient history, examination findings, imaging, test results, and evidence-based ENT protocols.
* Work closely with audiologists, speech therapists, radiologists, anesthesiologists, pediatricians, oncologists, nurses, and allied healthcare teams.
* Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment choices, surgical expectations, recovery planning, medication use, and preventive ENT care.
* Maintain accurate medical records, consultation notes, operative documentation, consent records, discharge summaries, and follow-up plans.
* Participate in clinical audits, continuing medical education, departmental meetings, morbidity reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Contribute to protocol development, patient safety practices, infection control standards, and hospital clinical governance requirements.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree from an accredited institution.
* Board certification in Otolaryngology, such as American Board, Royal College, or an equivalent recognized qualification.
* DHA license or DHA eligibility as a Consultant ENT physician.
* Minimum 5 years of post-specialization experience in a tertiary care hospital, academic hospital, or advanced specialist clinical setting.
* Proven experience managing both adult and pediatric ENT cases.
* Strong surgical expertise in functional endoscopic sinus surgery, septoplasty, tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, ear procedures, laryngoscopy, and head and neck cases.
* Excellent diagnostic ability with confidence in interpreting imaging, audiology reports, endoscopic findings, and clinical investigations.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex ENT conditions clearly to patients and families.
* Commitment to patient safety, ethical medical practice, continuous learning, and multidisciplinary teamwork.
* Ability to work in a busy hospital environment while maintaining accuracy, compassion, and high clinical standards.
