Role Context
The Consultant - ENT will provide advanced outpatient, inpatient, diagnostic, and surgical care for patients with a wide range of otolaryngology conditions. The role covers adult and pediatric ENT cases, including sinus disease, ear infections, hearing loss, sleep-related breathing disorders, and head and neck tumors. The consultant will contribute to safe surgical practice, coordinated specialty care, clinical audits, protocol development, and continuous service improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and manage ENT conditions including sinusitis, otitis media, hearing loss, sleep apnea, airway concerns, voice disorders, and head and neck tumors.
* Perform advanced otolaryngology procedures such as tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, septoplasty, functional endoscopic sinus surgery, microscopic ear surgery, laryngoscopy, and head and neck reconstructive surgery.
* Provide outpatient consultations and inpatient ENT management with clear clinical plans and timely follow-up.
* Interpret CT scans, MRI studies, audiograms, endoscopic findings, and other diagnostic investigations relevant to ENT care.
* Develop individualized medical and surgical treatment plans based on patient condition, clinical findings, risk factors, and evidence-based practice.
* Collaborate with audiologists, speech therapists, pediatricians, anesthesiologists, radiologists, oncologists, and other specialists for integrated patient care.
* Counsel patients and families on diagnosis, treatment options, surgical risks, recovery expectations, and long-term care requirements.
* Maintain accurate consultation notes, operative reports, consent records, treatment plans, and follow-up documentation.
* Participate in clinical audits, CME activities, departmental meetings, morbidity reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Contribute to ENT protocol development and support safe, consistent care pathways across the department.
* Ensure compliance with DHA requirements, hospital standards, infection control policies, patient safety protocols, and ethical medical practice.
* Support teaching, mentoring, and clinical guidance for junior doctors and healthcare team members when required.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree with recognized specialization in Otolaryngology.
* Board certification in Otolaryngology, such as American Board, Royal College, or equivalent recognized qualification.
* DHA license or eligibility to practice as a Consultant ENT in Dubai.
* Minimum 5 years of post-specialization experience in a tertiary care or academic hospital setting.
* Proven expertise in both adult and pediatric ENT cases.
* Strong surgical experience across common and advanced ENT procedures.
* Skilled in diagnostic interpretation, endoscopic evaluation, hearing-related assessment, and head and neck case management.
* Excellent communication skills with a patient-centered approach to counselling and care planning.
* Strong leadership, teamwork, clinical judgment, and documentation standards.
* Commitment to continuous professional development, clinical governance, patient safety, and evidence-based ENT practice.
