Position Overview
A Consultant in Fetal Medicine opportunity is available in Dubai, United Arab Emirates for an experienced physician specializing in fetal assessment, prenatal diagnosis, and the management of high-risk pregnancies. The consultant will provide expert maternal and fetal care through advanced imaging, prenatal diagnostic procedures, parental counseling, and fetal interventions where clinically appropriate. Working closely with obstetricians, neonatologists, geneticists, pediatric specialists, and radiologists, the role requires advanced clinical expertise alongside sensitive communication with expectant parents.

Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, assess, and manage
fetal abnormalities using advanced ultrasound and prenatal diagnostic techniques.
- Perform detailed fetal anomaly scans, fetal echocardiography, and fetal growth assessments.
- Counsel expectant parents regarding identified fetal conditions, prognosis, diagnostic findings, and available management options.
- Review maternal medical and obstetric histories and develop individualized care plans for high-risk pregnancies.
- Perform or supervise invasive prenatal diagnostic procedures, including amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling.
- Undertake fetal therapeutic interventions where indicated, including fetal blood transfusions, fetoscopic procedures, and other appropriate intrauterine treatments.
- Coordinate complex maternal and fetal care with obstetrics, neonatology, genetics, pediatric surgery, radiology, and other relevant specialties.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with hospital requirements.
- Contribute to clinical audits, departmental quality improvement, teaching, and research activities.
- Maintain professional knowledge through continuous development and participation in relevant scientific meetings.
Qualifications and Experience
- Medical degree, MBBS or equivalent, from a recognized institution.
- Completion of specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Fellowship or Certification in Fetal Medicine from a recognized international body.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Consultant in Fetal Medicine within a reputable tertiary care hospital.
- Western education and-or experience within a recognized healthcare system such as the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or equivalent is mandatory.
- Eligibility for or possession of a valid DHA, DOH, or MOH Consultant license.
- Excellent communication, counseling, and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English is required; Arabic is an advantage.
