Allocation Assist Middle East is seeking an experienced Female Consultant Gastroenterologist with advanced ERCP expertise for a full-time, on-site healthcare opportunity in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The consultant will provide comprehensive gastroenterology services with a strong focus on advanced endoscopy, therapeutic ERCP, and the management of complex hepatobiliary and pancreatic disorders.
The position requires substantial independent ERCP experience, advanced technical endoscopy skills, and the ability to coordinate complex patient care with surgical, radiology, oncology, pathology, and other specialist teams.

Consultant Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage patients
with gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, and pancreatic disorders.
- Evaluate patients requiring advanced endoscopic intervention and determine appropriate treatment pathways.
- Provide pre-procedure counselling and obtain informed consent.
- Ensure appropriate sedation, infection control, and adherence to endoscopy safety protocols.
- Identify and manage post-procedure complications and arrange appropriate follow-up.
- Manage gastrointestinal bleeding, inflammatory bowel disease, liver and biliary disorders, pancreatic disease, and other complex gastrointestinal conditions.
- Maintain a patient-centered approach throughout assessment, intervention, and follow-up.
Advanced ERCP and Therapeutic Endoscopy
The consultant will independently perform advanced endoscopic procedures with a strong emphasis on ERCP, including:
- Diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP
- Biliary and pancreatic sphincterotomy
- Biliary stent placement and removal
- Pancreatic stent placement and removal
- Bile duct stone extraction
- Management of bile duct obstruction
- Management of benign and malignant biliary strictures
- Endoscopic management of pancreatic duct disorders
Upper and Lower GI Endoscopy
- Gastroscopy and OGD
- Colonoscopy
- Endoscopic biopsy
- Polypectomy
- Endoscopic hemostasis
- PEG placement where appropriately trained
- Diagnostic and therapeutic upper GI endoscopy
- Diagnostic and therapeutic lower GI endoscopy
Complex Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Care
The Consultant Gastroenterologist will participate in multidisciplinary management of complex hepatobiliary, pancreatic, and gastrointestinal cases. Close collaboration with surgeons, interventional radiologists, oncologists, pathologists, and other specialists will support appropriate clinical and procedural decision-making.
Qualifications
- MBBS, MBChB, MD, or equivalent medical degree.
- Recognized postgraduate qualification in Gastroenterology or Internal Medicine with Gastroenterology specialization.
- Recognized Board Certification or equivalent specialist qualification.
- Advanced fellowship or formal training in ERCP, Therapeutic Endoscopy, or Interventional Gastroenterology is highly desirable.
- Appropriate UAE professional license or eligibility for Consultant-level licensing in Dubai.
Experience
- Significant post-specialty experience at Consultant level in Gastroenterology.
- Strong documented experience performing ERCP independently.
- Demonstrated competency in therapeutic ERCP.
- Experience managing complex biliary and pancreatic conditions.
- Strong experience in diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower GI endoscopy.
- Experience within a tertiary-care hospital or advanced endoscopy center is preferred.
- Experience managing complex hepatobiliary and pancreatic cases is highly desirable.
