The Consultant General Surgeon specializing in Breast Surgery plays a critical role in diagnosing, treating, and managing breast-related diseases, including complex oncological cases and reconstructive procedures. This position supports patient recovery, surgical excellence, and early intervention strategies while working closely with oncology and diagnostic teams to ensure comprehensive treatment pathways.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and manage breast-related conditions including benign lesions, breast cancer, cysts, and complex surgical cases
* Perform advanced surgical procedures such as lumpectomy, mastectomy, sentinel node biopsy, and breast reconstruction
* Deliver pre-operative assessments and post-operative follow-up care to ensure safe recovery and positive outcomes
* Collaborate with oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and plastic surgeons for multidisciplinary treatment planning
* Apply minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgical techniques where clinically appropriate
* Educate patients regarding diagnosis, treatment options, preventive care, and recovery expectations
* Maintain detailed clinical documentation and compliance with DHA regulations and hospital governance standards
* Participate in departmental reviews, case discussions, and quality improvement programs
* Stay updated on advancements in breast oncology and surgical innovation through CME and specialist education
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree from an accredited and recognized institution
* Board certification in General Surgery with specialization in Breast Surgery
* Minimum five to ten years of proven experience in breast surgery practice
* Strong expertise in both oncologic and reconstructive breast procedures
* Fluent Arabic communication skills in speaking and writing are essential
* Western medical training is preferred
* Excellent interpersonal and patient counseling abilities
* Strong teamwork skills within multidisciplinary healthcare environments
