Position Overview
Allocation Assist Middle East is seeking an experienced Consultant in Infectious Diseases for a healthcare opportunity in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The consultant will provide specialist care for adult patients with complex bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic infections while contributing to antimicrobial stewardship, infection prevention, and multidisciplinary clinical management. The position requires substantial experience with complex infectious disease cases within a tertiary care or academic hospital environment.

Clinical Responsibilities
- Diagnose, treat, and manage bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic infectious diseases.
- Provide specialist management for complex conditions
including sepsis, HIV, tuberculosis, endocarditis, osteomyelitis, and hospital-acquired infections.
- Deliver infectious disease consultations for both inpatient and outpatient cases.
- Lead and support antimicrobial stewardship programs focused on appropriate antibiotic use.
- Collaborate with ICU, internal medicine, surgery, microbiology, and other clinical teams to coordinate patient management.
- Participate in infection prevention and control programs and contribute to outbreak management.
- Maintain clinical practice in accordance with DOH Abu Dhabi regulations, hospital protocols, and applicable international clinical guidelines.
- Contribute to teaching, professional training, clinical audits, research, and continuous quality improvement activities.
Qualifications and Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree recognized by DOH Abu Dhabi.
- Board Certification or Fellowship in Infectious Diseases.
- American Board, UK CCT, Canadian Board, or an equivalent recognized qualification is required.
- Valid DOH Consultant License or Eligibility Letter in Infectious Diseases.
- Minimum 5-7 years of post-specialist experience within a tertiary care or academic hospital.
- Strong experience managing complex infectious disease cases.
- Demonstrated experience with antimicrobial stewardship.
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Experience
Experience in outbreak management and hospital infection control programs is preferred, along with exposure to infectious disease consultations within an ICU environment. Research publications in infectious diseases are considered an advantage.
Candidates should also be comfortable working within a multicultural, high-acuity clinical setting and coordinating care across multiple specialties.
