Role Context
The Consultant Interventional Neuroradiologist plays a critical role in stroke intervention, neurovascular treatment, and minimally invasive neurological procedures that directly impact life-saving patient outcomes. This position strengthens the hospital’s neurosciences division by delivering advanced interventional expertise, supporting multidisciplinary care pathways, and contributing to innovation in neurovascular services.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform advanced neuro-interventional procedures including mechanical thrombectomy for acute ischemic stroke
* Manage aneurysm coiling, flow-diversion procedures, AVM and AVF embolization, and tumor embolization cases
* Conduct carotid artery stenting, intracranial stenting, and spinal vascular interventions
* Interpret complex neuroimaging studies including CT, MRI, CTA, MRA, DSA, and angiographic evaluations
* Provide inpatient and outpatient consultations for patients with neurovascular and cerebrovascular disorders
* Participate in 24-7 stroke and neuro-interventional emergency on-call coverage
* Collaborate with neurology, neurosurgery, emergency medicine, critical care, and stroke teams for integrated treatment planning
* Support the development of neuro-interventional clinical pathways, protocols, and service improvement initiatives
* Participate in multidisciplinary stroke boards and neurovascular case discussions
* Mentor junior radiologists, fellows, technologists, and support staff within the neurosciences department
* Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with DHA regulations and hospital governance standards
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree from a recognized institution with specialist training in Radiology and Interventional Neuroradiology
* Board certification in Radiology with fellowship or equivalent subspecialty training in Interventional Neuroradiology
* Extensive consultant-level experience in neurovascular intervention and acute stroke procedures
* Strong expertise in adult and pediatric neuro-interventional case management
* Advanced knowledge of cerebrovascular imaging and minimally invasive neurological procedures
* Excellent decision-making, leadership, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
* Strong patient communication and family-centered care approach
* Eligibility for specialist licensing within UAE healthcare authority standards
