Role Context
The Consultant - Interventional Neuroradiology will provide expert diagnostic and therapeutic care for patients with complex brain, spine, and vascular conditions. The position focuses
Key Responsibilities
* Perform advanced neuro-interventional procedures for complex neurological and vascular disorders using minimally invasive endovascular techniques.
* Manage endovascular treatment of intracranial aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, and other cerebrovascular abnormalities.
* Carry out mechanical thrombectomy for acute ischemic stroke cases in line with emergency stroke protocols and international clinical standards.
* Perform carotid stenting, intracranial stenting, spinal vascular interventions, and related image-guided procedures where clinically indicated.
* Interpret advanced neuroimaging studies including CT, MRI, CTA, MRA, DSA, and angiography, producing clear and accurate diagnostic reports.
* Participate in emergency neuro-interventional services for acute stroke, trauma, vascular emergencies, and urgent neurological cases.
* Collaborate with neurologists, neurosurgeons, radiologists, intensivists, emergency physicians, anesthesiologists, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals.
* Review patient history, imaging results, procedural risks, treatment options, and post-procedure plans with strong clinical judgment.
* Support multidisciplinary case discussions, tumor boards, stroke meetings, vascular conferences, and complex care planning.
* Maintain accurate procedural documentation, diagnostic reports, consent records, patient notes, and follow-up recommendations.
* Ensure all procedures follow patient safety protocols, radiation safety standards, infection control policies, and evidence-based medical practice.
* Mentor junior doctors, fellows, radiology staff, and clinical team members in neuroimaging interpretation and interventional neuroradiology practice.
* Contribute to clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, research activity, and continuous professional development within the hospital.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree from a recognized institution.
* Fellowship or subspecialty training in Interventional Neuroradiology.
* Board certification or equivalent qualification in Radiology, Neuroradiology, or a closely related specialty.
* Eligibility for Dubai Health Authority licensing as a consultant-level physician.
* Proven experience performing neuro-interventional procedures in a hospital or tertiary care setting.
* Strong expertise in endovascular aneurysm treatment, AVM management, thrombectomy, vascular stenting, and spinal vascular intervention.
* Advanced ability to interpret CT, MRI, angiography, and other neuroimaging studies with diagnostic accuracy.
* Confident decision-making skills for emergency stroke, trauma, and high-risk neurological cases.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex procedures and risks to patients and families.
* Strong teamwork approach with experience working in multidisciplinary clinical environments.
* Fluency in English is required; Arabic or additional languages will be an advantage.
