Role Context
The Consultant Interventional Radiologist will provide advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services through image-guided procedures that reduce surgical risk, improve recovery time, and support accurate treatment planning. The role requires strong procedural judgment, excellent imaging interpretation skills, and close coordination with clinical teams to deliver safe, timely, and patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform interventional radiology procedures, including angioplasty, stenting, embolization, biopsies, drainages, and other approved minimally invasive interventions.
* Interpret CT, MRI, ultrasound, and related imaging studies to guide procedures and support accurate diagnosis.
* Collaborate with oncology, vascular medicine, emergency care, surgery, anesthesia, and other specialist teams to plan and deliver integrated patient care.
* Assess patients before procedures, explain risks and benefits clearly, and ensure proper consent and safety preparation.
* Monitor patients during and after procedures, identifying complications early and coordinating follow-up care when required.
* Ensure all clinical work follows UAE healthcare regulations, DHA requirements, hospital protocols, radiation safety standards, and patient safety policies.
* Mentor junior radiologists, residents, fellows, and imaging department staff through clinical supervision and structured teaching.
* Participate in departmental quality improvement, clinical audits, case reviews, research activity, and continuous medical education.
* Maintain accurate procedure notes, imaging reports, patient records, and multidisciplinary documentation.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree such as MD, MBBS, or equivalent from a recognized institution.
* Board certification in Radiology with fellowship training in Interventional Radiology.
* Minimum 5 years of post-fellowship experience in interventional procedures.
* Western-trained background such as UK CCT, American Board, or equivalent is required.
* Fluent communication skills in Arabic and English.
* DHA license or eligibility to practice as a consultant in Dubai.
* Strong diagnostic imaging and procedural skills across vascular, oncologic, emergency, and general interventional cases.
* Confident in multidisciplinary collaboration, patient consultation, and clinical decision-making.
* Excellent leadership and communication abilities with a strong commitment to patient safety and high-quality outcomes.
