Role Context
The Consultant Interventional Radiologist plays a critical role in modern patient care by delivering precise, minimally invasive treatments using advanced imaging technologies. This position improves recovery outcomes, reduces surgical risks, and supports faster patient rehabilitation while working closely with multidisciplinary teams across multiple clinical specialties.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform advanced interventional radiology procedures including angioplasty, stenting, embolization, biopsies, drainages, catheter placements, and vascular access procedures
* Interpret CT, MRI, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, and other imaging studies to guide diagnosis and treatment planning
* Support oncology, vascular medicine, trauma, and emergency departments with image-guided therapeutic interventions
* Collaborate with surgeons, oncologists, vascular specialists, and emergency physicians to create patient-focused treatment plans
* Conduct pre-procedure consultations and post-procedure follow-up to ensure safe recovery and effective outcomes
* Maintain accurate procedural documentation and compliance with DHA regulations and hospital governance standards
* Mentor junior radiologists, fellows, and clinical staff while contributing to specialist training and education
* Participate in clinical audits, research projects, and quality improvement initiatives
* Uphold patient safety, infection control, and ethical standards in all interventional procedures
Ideal Profile
* Medical Degree such as MD or equivalent from a recognized institution
* Board Certification in Radiology with fellowship training in Interventional Radiology
* Minimum five years of post-fellowship experience in advanced interventional procedures
* Fluent Arabic and English communication skills are essential
* Western-trained specialist such as UK CCT, American Board, or equivalent qualification
* DHA license or eligibility to practice in Dubai
* Strong expertise in diagnostic imaging interpretation and minimally invasive procedures
* Excellent leadership, communication, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
