Role Context
The Consultant - IVF Reproductive Medicine will provide expert fertility care for patients requiring evaluation, treatment, and ongoing support through assisted reproductive pathways. The role covers infertility assessment, IVF cycle planning, egg retrieval, embryo transfer, medication monitoring, ultrasound evaluation, diagnostic interpretation, and close collaboration with embryologists, obstetricians, geneticists, psychologists, nurses, and junior medical staff. The consultant will help improve fertility outcomes through safe procedures, clear communication, ethical practice, and continuous service improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct detailed fertility consultations, review patient history, assess reproductive health concerns, and develop individualized treatment plans.
* Diagnose and manage infertility-related conditions using clinical evaluation, ultrasound findings, hormonal investigations, semen analysis, and relevant diagnostic tests.
* Perform IVF procedures, including egg retrieval, embryo transfer, and related assisted reproductive medicine interventions with precision and patient safety.
* Support sperm preparation, embryo transfer planning, ovarian stimulation monitoring, medication protocols, and cycle management in coordination with the fertility team.
* Monitor patients throughout fertility treatment using ultrasound evaluations, laboratory results, hormonal monitoring, and clinical progress reviews.
* Interpret diagnostic findings and provide evidence-based recommendations for IVF, ICSI, embryo biopsy, fertility preservation, or other advanced reproductive options.
* Collaborate with obstetricians, embryologists, geneticists, psychologists, nurses, and multidisciplinary specialists to deliver holistic fertility care.
* Educate patients and couples on fertility options, procedure steps, expected outcomes, possible risks, emotional considerations, and follow-up requirements.
* Provide guidance and training to nurses, embryologists, junior doctors, and clinical staff involved in reproductive medicine services.
* Maintain accurate documentation, consent records, procedure notes, treatment plans, cycle monitoring details, and follow-up reports.
* Ensure compliance with UAE healthcare regulations, ethical fertility practice, hospital policies, patient confidentiality, and clinical governance requirements.
* Stay updated with advancements in reproductive medicine, IVF protocols, laboratory techniques, and assisted reproductive technology.
* Participate in research, clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, case discussions, and continuing medical education activities.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree such as MD, MBBS, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
* Board certification, fellowship, or recognized specialist qualification in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
* Minimum 5 years of experience performing IVF and advanced reproductive procedures.
* Strong expertise in IVF cycle management, ovarian stimulation, egg retrieval, embryo transfer, and fertility treatment planning.
* Proficiency in ICSI, embryo biopsy, and other advanced assisted reproductive technology techniques.
* Experience working in a high-volume fertility center or advanced reproductive medicine unit will be an advantage.
* Strong understanding of ethical fertility practice, patient counselling, reproductive endocrinology, and infertility management.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for supporting patients and couples through sensitive fertility journeys.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment with embryology, nursing, and multidisciplinary teams.
