Role Context
The Consultant - Laparoscopic Gynecology will provide comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology services with a strong focus on advanced laparoscopic and minimally invasive procedures. The role involves managing women’s health concerns across reproductive, pregnancy, surgical, and postnatal stages while supporting high standards of clinical governance, patient safety, and multidisciplinary collaboration. The consultant will help strengthen women’s healthcare services in Dubai through expert diagnosis, precise surgical planning, high-risk obstetric care, and clear communication with patients and families.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology consultations, diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up care.
* Manage normal and high-risk pregnancies, including antenatal care, delivery planning, postnatal care, and maternal health monitoring.
* Perform advanced laparoscopic and minimally invasive gynecological surgeries with a focus on safe outcomes and faster patient recovery.
* Conduct cesarean sections, emergency obstetric procedures, and urgent gynecological interventions when clinically required.
* Diagnose and manage gynecological disorders such as fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain, and infertility-related conditions.
* Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient history, clinical examination, imaging, laboratory findings, fertility needs, and surgical indications.
* Collaborate with anesthesiologists, radiologists, fertility specialists, neonatologists, nurses, midwives, and other multidisciplinary medical teams.
* Educate patients on treatment options, surgical expectations, pregnancy care, recovery plans, preventive health, and long-term women’s wellness.
* Maintain accurate consultation notes, operative records, consent documentation, delivery records, treatment plans, and follow-up reports.
* Ensure compliance with DHA regulations, hospital policies, international healthcare standards, patient safety protocols, and infection control practices.
* Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, morbidity reviews, case discussions, and departmental meetings.
* Support medical education activities and contribute to a professional environment focused on evidence-based women’s healthcare.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree from a recognized institution with specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
* Fellowship, board certification, or equivalent recognized qualification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
* Advanced training and proven expertise in laparoscopic gynecological surgery.
* DHA license or DHA eligibility as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist.
* Minimum 5 years of consultant-level experience in obstetrics and gynecology.
* Strong background in minimally invasive gynecologic procedures, laparoscopic surgery, and obstetric management.
* Experience managing high-risk pregnancies, cesarean sections, emergency obstetric cases, and complex gynecological disorders.
* Female candidate preferred as per operational requirement.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust with patients from diverse backgrounds.
* Strong clinical judgment, surgical precision, documentation discipline, and patient-care focus.
