The role is suited for a consultant who can manage complex pregnancies, support evidence-based decision-making, and coordinate multidisciplinary care to improve maternal and fetal outcomes.
This position focuses on advanced maternal-fetal medicine services, including management of maternal complications, fetal anomalies, multiple gestations, preterm birth risk, detailed anomaly scans, Doppler studies, fetal echocardiography, prenatal procedures, and family counseling. The consultant will work closely with obstetrics, neonatology, genetics, radiology, anesthesia, and fetal therapy teams to deliver safe, patient-centered care aligned with international standards.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead the management of high-risk pregnancies involving maternal medical complications, fetal anomalies, multiple gestations, growth concerns, and preterm birth risk.
* Perform and interpret advanced fetal imaging, including detailed anomaly scans, fetal echocardiography, Doppler studies, and fetal growth assessments.
* Conduct prenatal diagnostic procedures such as amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling, and fetal sampling when clinically required.
* Provide clear and sensitive counseling to families regarding fetal conditions, genetic risks, pregnancy risks, and available management pathways.
* Collaborate with neonatology, genetics, radiology, anesthesia, obstetrics, and other specialties to support safe maternal and fetal outcomes.
* Participate in fetal therapy planning and coordinate referrals for intrauterine interventions when specialist care is needed.
* Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, follow-up planning, and continuity of care for all maternal-fetal medicine cases.
* Contribute to departmental quality improvement, clinical governance, patient safety initiatives, and protocol development.
* Supervise and mentor residents, fellows, sonographers, and clinical team members in maternal-fetal medicine practice.
* Participate in on-call duties according to departmental requirements.
* Engage in research, audits, teaching, and continuous professional development to maintain international standards of practice.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree such as MBBS, MD, or equivalent.
* Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
* Subspecialty certification or fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine or Fetal Medicine from a recognized international institution.
* Minimum 3-5 years of post-fellowship experience in maternal-fetal medicine.
* Demonstrated expertise in advanced fetal imaging, prenatal diagnostics, and high-risk pregnancy management.
* Experience working in multidisciplinary care and tertiary-level obstetric services.
* Strong ability to counsel families during complex and sensitive pregnancy situations.
* Confident clinical judgment in fetal anomaly assessment, maternal complications, and pregnancy risk planning.
* Excellent communication, leadership, documentation, and multidisciplinary coordination skills.
