* Lead neonatal emergency response and stabilization efforts in delivery rooms, neonatal units, and high-acuity clinical situations.
* Develop individualized treatment plans for newborns based on gestational age, birth weight, diagnosis, organ support needs, family situation, and clinical progress.
* Manage respiratory support strategies including non-invasive ventilation, invasive ventilation, oxygen therapy, surfactant-related care, and weaning plans.
* Collaborate closely with obstetricians, maternal-fetal medicine physicians, pediatric subspecialists, pediatric surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and allied healthcare teams.
* Participate in antenatal counseling for high-risk pregnancies, expected neonatal complications, premature deliveries, congenital anomalies, and planned NICU admission.
* Lead multidisciplinary NICU rounds, review patient progress, coordinate treatment priorities, and support safe discharge or transfer planning.
* Ensure compliance with NICU protocols, infection prevention standards, medication safety, nutritional care pathways, patient safety requirements, and regulatory expectations.
* Supervise and mentor junior physicians, residents, fellows, NICU nurses, and clinical team members involved in neonatal care.
* Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, morbidity and mortality reviews, research activities, and departmental development programs.
* Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation including NICU progress notes, procedure records, family meeting notes, treatment plans, discharge summaries, and follow-up recommendations.
* Contribute to continuing medical education, teaching sessions, neonatal simulation training, and professional development activities within the department.
* Stay updated with advances in neonatology, neonatal ventilation, infection control, developmental care, neonatal nutrition, and evidence-based NICU practice.
