Role Context
The Consultant Neurologist will provide specialized care for patients with a broad range of neurological conditions, from urgent neurological presentations to long-term chronic disease management. The position supports clinical excellence by combining accurate diagnosis, evidence-based treatment planning, neuroimaging review, multidisciplinary collaboration, patient education, and leadership for junior medical staff.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive neurological assessments for patients with acute, chronic, and complex neurological symptoms
* Diagnose and manage neurological conditions including stroke, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, migraine, neuropathies, and other nervous system disorders
* Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings, diagnostic results, patient history, and evidence-based neurology practice
* Interpret neurodiagnostic investigations, including MRI, CT, EEG, EMG, and lumbar puncture findings
* Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and complex case discussions with other specialists and clinical departments
* Provide expert consultation for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency neurology cases as required
* Supervise and mentor junior physicians, residents, fellows, and clinical team members
* Contribute to clinical audits, quality improvement programs, research activity, and continuing medical education
* Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with UAE healthcare standards, hospital policies, and clinical protocols
* Communicate clearly with patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, disease progression, and long-term care plans
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree such as MBBS or equivalent from a recognized institution
* Board certification in Neurology such as Arab Board, American Board, Canadian Board, European Board, or equivalent recognized qualification
* Valid UAE healthcare license or eligibility as a Consultant Neurologist is preferred
* Minimum 3-5 years of post-specialization experience in clinical neurology
* Strong expertise in managing stroke, epilepsy, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, migraine, and other neurological conditions
* Proficiency in neuroimaging review and neurophysiological diagnostic interpretation
* Excellent clinical judgement, communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
* Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary hospital environment
* Fluency in English is required, while Arabic language skills are an advantage
