Role Context
The Consultant Neurologist plays a vital role in improving patient outcomes by managing neurological disorders that require specialist expertise, accurate diagnosis, and long-term monitoring. This position supports healthcare quality through advanced clinical practice, multidisciplinary decision-making, junior doctor supervision, and active participation in research and medical education.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive neurological examinations and develop personalized treatment strategies
* Diagnose and manage conditions such as stroke, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, migraine, neuropathy, and other neurological disorders
* Interpret neurodiagnostic investigations including MRI, CT scans, EEG, EMG, nerve conduction studies, and lumbar puncture findings
* Lead inpatient and outpatient neurological consultations with strong clinical decision-making
* Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings for complex neurological case discussions
* Supervise junior physicians, residents, and fellows while supporting training and professional development
* Maintain accurate patient records and ensure full compliance with hospital documentation standards
* Contribute to departmental clinical audits, research activities, and continuous medical education programs
* Follow DHA regulations, ethical standards, and hospital governance protocols
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree such as MBBS or equivalent from a recognized institution
* Board Certification in Neurology such as Saudi Board, Arab Board, American Board, Canadian Board, or European equivalent
* Eligibility for specialist licensing within UAE healthcare regulatory standards
* Minimum three to five years of post-specialization experience in clinical neurology
* Strong knowledge of neuroimaging interpretation and neurophysiological diagnostics
* Excellent leadership, communication, and patient management skills
* Ability to work effectively within multicultural healthcare environments
* Fluency in English with Arabic language skills considered an added advantage
