The consultant will provide comprehensive evaluation, surgical treatment, and long-term management for patients with complex neurological disorders requiring functional and stereotactic neurosurgical interventions.
The role requires advanced expertise in Deep Brain Stimulation, epilepsy surgery, neuromodulation, stereotactic techniques, and image-guided neurosurgery. Clinical and Surgical Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage patients requiring functional neurosurgical intervention for movement disorders, epilepsy, chronic pain, spasticity, and other neurological conditions.
- Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments and determine suitability for surgical treatment through multidisciplinary evaluation.
- Perform advanced functional and stereotactic neurosurgical procedures according to clinical indications and professional privileges.
- Use neuronavigation, stereotactic systems, and image-guided techniques for appropriate neurosurgical procedures.
- Provide comprehensive postoperative management and long-term clinical follow-up.
- Evaluate surgical outcomes and manage postoperative complications.
- Participate in multidisciplinary neuroscience clinics, case conferences, and departmental meetings.
- Participate in tumor boards where applicable.
- Provide on-call neurosurgical services and emergency neurosurgical care as required.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and operative reports in accordance with applicable regulatory and hospital requirements.
