Role Context
The
Consultant OB-GYN will provide continuous medical and surgical care for women across different stages of life, including pregnancy, childbirth, reproductive years, and menopause. The role combines routine preventive care with management of complex obstetric and gynecological conditions, surgical treatment, patient education, and multidisciplinary coordination. The consultant will play an important role in maintaining high standards of maternal safety, reproductive care, surgical outcomes, and long-term women\'s health.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecological consultations for women of different age groups.
* Conduct routine examinations, preventive screenings, and women\'s health assessments.
* Diagnose and manage endometriosis, pelvic pain, irregular menstruation, and other common gynecological conditions.
* Assess and treat patients presenting with complex reproductive or gynecological disorders.
* Manage routine and higher-risk pregnancies through individualized antenatal care plans.
* Monitor maternal and fetal wellbeing throughout pregnancy.
* Review obstetric ultrasound findings, blood test results, and other prenatal investigations.
* Coordinate genetic counseling and further diagnostic evaluation when clinically indicated.
* Manage labor and delivery while supporting safe maternal and neonatal outcomes.
* Perform Caesarean sections according to clinical indication and established surgical standards.
* Provide postnatal assessment and follow-up for mothers following vaginal or surgical delivery.
* Perform gynecological procedures and surgeries when conservative treatment is not appropriate.
* Develop evidence-based treatment plans for complex women\'s health conditions.
* Counsel patients regarding contraception, family planning, fertility options, and reproductive health.
* Coordinate fertility-related treatment or referral where appropriate.
* Provide care for women experiencing perimenopausal and menopausal health concerns.
* Explain diagnoses, treatment options, procedures, risks, and expected outcomes clearly to patients.
* Collaborate with anesthesiologists, neonatologists, radiologists, fertility specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
* Maintain complete consultation notes, operative reports, consent documentation, treatment plans, and follow-up records.
* Follow patient safety, infection control, ethical, and clinical governance requirements.
* Maintain professional competence through continuing education, specialty training, and review of developments in obstetrics and gynecology.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree from an accredited university.
* American Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
* Valid DHA or MOH license as a Consultant OB-GYN.
* Minimum 7 years of experience practicing at consultant level.
* At least 3 years of professional experience within the UAE or GCC region.
* Western education or clinical training is required.
* Broad clinical experience across obstetrics, gynecology, reproductive medicine, and women\'s health.
* Strong competence in pregnancy management, childbirth, Caesarean delivery, and postnatal care.
* Demonstrated ability to diagnose and treat both routine and complex gynecological conditions.
* Experience performing gynecological surgical procedures.
