Role Context
The Consultant OB/GYN will deliver comprehensive medical and surgical
care for women across all life stages. The role supports safe maternity services, accurate gynecological diagnosis, effective treatment planning, and clear patient education for women requiring routine, high-risk, preventive, or surgical care. The consultant will work within a state-of-the-art healthcare environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve maternal health, newborn outcomes, reproductive wellness, and long-term patient confidence.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality and compassionate obstetric and gynecological care for women of all ages, from pregnancy through menopause.
* Conduct routine check-ups, preventive screenings, clinical examinations, and diagnostic assessments for women’s health concerns.
* Diagnose and manage common and complex gynecological conditions, including endometriosis, pelvic pain, irregular periods, hormonal concerns, and reproductive health issues.
* Deliver babies and perform Caesarean sections while ensuring safe maternal and newborn outcomes.
* Provide postnatal care to new mothers and babies, including recovery guidance, breastfeeding support coordination, and follow-up planning.
* Offer prenatal care including ultrasound review, blood test interpretation, genetic counseling coordination, fetal wellbeing monitoring, and risk assessment.
* Develop individualized treatment plans for complex obstetric and gynecological conditions based on patient history, clinical findings, diagnostic results, and evidence-based protocols.
* Perform gynecological surgeries and procedures when clinically necessary, ensuring patient safety, informed consent, and appropriate follow-up.
* Educate patients on reproductive health, contraception, fertility treatments, family planning options, preventive care, and long-term women’s wellness.
* Collaborate with midwives, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, radiologists, fertility specialists, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals.
* Maintain accurate consultation notes, delivery records, operative reports, consent documentation, treatment plans, and follow-up records in line with DHA or MOH standards.
* Stay updated with advancements in obstetrics and gynecology through continued education, clinical training, and professional development.
* Support patient safety, clinical governance, ethical practice, confidentiality, and high standards of communication in all areas of women’s healthcare.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree from an accredited university.
* American Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
* Valid DHA or MOH license as a Consultant OB/GYN.
* Minimum 7 years of experience as a Consultant OB/GYN.
* At least 3 years of experience working in the UAE or GCC region.
* Western education or Western clinical training is required.
* Demonstrated experience providing a wide range of obstetric and gynecological services.
* Strong clinical background in pregnancy care, deliveries, Caesarean sections, postnatal care, gynecological diagnosis, reproductive health, and women’s health surgery.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust with patients, families, and colleagues.
