Role Context
This Consultant OBGYN - Laparoscopic Surgery position requires extensive experience across obstetrics, gynecology, and minimally invasive surgery. The consultant will evaluate patients, establish individualized management plans, provide antenatal and postnatal care, and conduct both planned and emergency obstetric procedures.
A major focus of the role is the diagnosis and surgical management of fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, and other gynecological disorders. The appointed physician will work with multidisciplinary specialists to provide safe treatment, reduce surgical recovery time, and achieve favorable maternal and gynecological outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive consultations, diagnostic assessments, and treatments across obstetrics and gynecology.
* Manage normal pregnancies and coordinate antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care.
* Assess and treat patients with high-risk pregnancies using evidence-based obstetric protocols.
* Perform advanced laparoscopic and minimally invasive gynecological procedures.
* Conduct cesarean sections and respond effectively to obstetric emergencies.
* Diagnose and manage fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, abnormal bleeding, and other gynecological conditions.
* Evaluate infertility-related concerns and recommend appropriate investigations or treatment pathways.
* Review patient histories, clinical findings, laboratory results, ultrasound examinations, and other diagnostic investigations.
* Develop individualized medical and surgical care plans based on each patient\'s condition and preferences.
* Explain diagnoses, treatment options, surgical risks, anticipated outcomes, and recovery requirements clearly.
* Obtain informed consent and promote shared decision-making throughout the treatment process.
* Provide pre-operative assessment, post-operative monitoring, and structured follow-up care.
* Recognize and manage complications associated with pregnancy, childbirth, and gynecological surgery.
* Coordinate complex cases with anesthesiologists, neonatologists, radiologists, fertility specialists, and other medical professionals.
* Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation in accordance with DHA requirements.
* Follow hospital policies, international healthcare standards, and established patient-safety procedures.
* Participate in clinical audits, quality-improvement programs, departmental meetings, and medical education.
* Remain informed about advances in laparoscopic surgery, women\'s health, and obstetric management.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree such as an MBBS, MD, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
* Completed specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
* Fellowship, board certification, or another recognized specialist qualification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
* Advanced training and demonstrated competence in laparoscopic gynecological surgery.
* Active DHA licence or eligibility for consultant-level medical registration in Dubai is preferred.
* Minimum of 5 years of consultant-level experience in obstetrics and gynecology.
* Proven ability to perform minimally invasive and advanced laparoscopic procedures.
