Role Context
The Consultant OBGYN - Womens Health provides comprehensive care for women across different life stages, from reproductive health and pregnancy to gynecological disorders, menopause-related concerns, and preventive screening. The role combines clinical consultation, surgical decision-making, maternity care, patient education, and multidisciplinary coordination.
This position has direct impact on maternal safety, women’s health outcomes, early diagnosis, patient confidence, and continuity of care. The consultant will work closely with neonatologists, anesthetists, radiologists, nurses, midwives, and other specialists to deliver coordinated care in a multicultural healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecological consultations for outpatient and inpatient patients.
* Manage normal and high-risk pregnancies, including antenatal care, labor supervision, delivery planning, postnatal care, and maternal-fetal monitoring.
* Diagnose and treat gynecological conditions, including menstrual disorders, PCOS, infertility concerns, fibroids, endometriosis, menopausal symptoms, and pelvic health issues.
* Perform obstetric and gynecological surgical procedures, including cesarean sections and minimally invasive surgeries where clinically appropriate.
* Conduct routine women’s health screenings, preventive care consultations, reproductive health assessments, and follow-up reviews.
* Develop individualized treatment plans based on diagnosis, patient history, clinical findings, reproductive goals, and safety considerations.
* Collaborate with neonatologists, anesthetists, radiologists, nurses, midwives, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure integrated patient care.
* Educate patients on pregnancy care, reproductive health, family planning, preventive screening, lifestyle choices, treatment options, and recovery expectations.
* Maintain accurate consultation notes, procedure records, consent documentation, delivery records, treatment plans, and follow-up reports in line with DHA requirements.
* Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, CME programs, departmental meetings, and patient safety activities.
* Follow international standards for obstetric and gynecologic care, infection control, confidentiality, clinical governance, and ethical medical practice.
Ideal Profile
* MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
* Board certification, fellowship, or equivalent specialist qualification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
* Active DHA Consultant License or eligibility for Dubai Health Authority consultant licensure.
* Minimum 5-7 years of post-board consultant experience in a reputed hospital or women’s healthcare setting.
* Strong expertise in obstetrics, gynecology, maternity care, women’s health management, antenatal care, postnatal care, and surgical procedures.
* Experience in minimally invasive gynecological procedures and laparoscopic surgery is preferred.
* Exposure to high-risk obstetric cases in tertiary care settings is an advantage.
* Arabic speaking skills are an advantage.
* Strong surgical judgment, patient counselling ability, clinical documentation skills, and multidisciplinary teamwork.
* Ability to work effectively in a multicultural healthcare environment with sensitivity, professionalism, and patient-focused care.
