The role is suited for a consultant who can provide advanced antenatal, delivery, and postnatal care while maintaining strong clinical judgment, patient safety, and compassionate communication with mothers and families.
This position is dedicated to obstetrics only, with emphasis on normal and high-risk pregnancies, maternal and fetal monitoring, labor supervision, emergency obstetric interventions, and cesarean sections. The consultant will work closely with neonatology, anesthesia, nursing, and maternity teams to support safe outcomes across the full pregnancy and delivery journey.

Key Responsibilities
* Manage normal and high-risk pregnancies with careful assessment, monitoring, and individualized maternal care planning.
* Conduct antenatal consultations, pregnancy reviews, postnatal follow-ups, and patient counseling throughout the maternity journey.
* Supervise labor and delivery procedures while ensuring timely clinical decisions and safe maternal-fetal outcomes.
* Perform emergency obstetric interventions, cesarean sections, and urgent delivery-related procedures when required.
* Monitor maternal and fetal well-being through clinical examination, diagnostic review, and appropriate escalation of care.
* Identify and manage obstetric complications related to high-risk pregnancy, labor progression, maternal health, and fetal condition.
* Collaborate with neonatology, anesthesia, midwifery, nursing, and other multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated maternity care.
* Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with healthcare facility protocols, DOH requirements, and international clinical standards.
* Communicate clearly with patients and families regarding pregnancy status, delivery plans, risks, interventions, and follow-up care.
* Support patient safety, clinical governance, quality standards, and evidence-based obstetric practice.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree with recognized specialization in Obstetrics.
* Board certification, fellowship, or equivalent specialist qualification in Obstetrics.
* Active DOH license or DOH license eligibility is required.
* Minimum 5 years of consultant-level experience in obstetrics.
* Strong expertise in maternal-fetal medicine, high-risk obstetrics, labor management, and emergency obstetric care.
* Proven ability to manage complex pregnancy cases and make sound clinical decisions under pressure.
* Female candidate preferred as per operational and patient care requirements.
* Excellent patient communication skills with a calm, supportive, and culturally sensitive approach.
