Role Context
The Consultant - Obstetrics and Gynecology will deliver comprehensive medical and surgical care for women across all life stages. The role covers routine check-ups, prenatal monitoring, delivery care, cesarean sections, postnatal support, gynecological diagnosis, reproductive counselling, and surgical management of complex conditions. The consultant will help strengthen women’s healthcare services in Dubai through evidence-based practice, compassionate communication, advanced clinical judgment, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality obstetric and gynecological care for women of all ages, from reproductive health and pregnancy through menopause.
* Conduct routine check-ups, preventive screenings, clinical examinations, and diagnostic assessments for women’s health concerns.
* Diagnose and manage common and complex gynecological conditions, including endometriosis, pelvic pain, irregular periods, hormonal concerns, and reproductive health issues.
* Deliver babies and perform cesarean sections while ensuring safe maternal and newborn outcomes.
* Provide postnatal care to mothers and newborns, including recovery guidance, breastfeeding support coordination, and follow-up planning.
* Offer prenatal care including ultrasound review, blood test interpretation, genetic counselling coordination, fetal wellbeing monitoring, and risk assessment.
* Develop individualized treatment plans for complex obstetric and gynecological conditions based on patient history, clinical findings, and evidence-based protocols.
* Perform gynecological surgeries and procedures when clinically necessary, ensuring patient safety, informed consent, and appropriate follow-up.
* Educate patients on reproductive health, contraception, fertility options, family planning, preventive care, and long-term women’s wellness.
* Collaborate with midwives, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, radiologists, fertility specialists, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals.
* Maintain accurate consultation notes, delivery records, operative reports, consent documentation, treatment plans, and follow-up records.
* Stay updated with advancements in obstetrics and gynecology through continued education, clinical training, and professional development.
* Support patient safety, clinical governance, ethical practice, and high standards of communication in all areas of women’s healthcare.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree from an accredited university.
* American Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
* Valid DHA or MOH license as a Consultant Obstetrics and Gynecology physician.
* Minimum 7 years of experience as a Consultant Obstetrics and Gynecology.
* At least 3 years of experience working in the UAE or GCC region.
* Western education or training is required.
* Demonstrated experience providing a wide range of obstetric and gynecological services.
* Strong clinical background in pregnancy care, deliveries, cesarean sections, postnatal care, gynecological diagnosis, reproductive health, and women’s health surgery.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust with patients, families, and colleagues.
* Strong work ethic with a clear commitment to patient-centered care, compassion, confidentiality, and clinical excellence.
* Ability to work effectively within a collaborative healthcare environment using advanced medical technology and modern clinical systems.
