Role Context
The Consultant Oculoplastic Surgeon plays a critical role in restoring both function and appearance for patients with eyelid, orbital, and lacrimal system disorders. This position supports complex surgical interventions, trauma management, and aesthetic procedures while contributing to high standards of specialist ophthalmic care and patient satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform a full range of eyelid, orbital, and lacrimal surgeries including advanced reconstructive and functional procedures
* Manage periocular trauma cases, orbital fractures, eyelid abnormalities, and complex post-surgical corrections
* Diagnose and treat periocular tumors and support post-oncologic reconstruction for facial and orbital structures
* Provide aesthetic oculoplastic services including upper and lower blepharoplasty, injectables, fillers, and minimally invasive rejuvenation treatments
* Conduct detailed patient consultations and develop personalized surgical and non-surgical treatment plans
* Collaborate closely with dermatology, oncology, maxillofacial surgery, and ophthalmology teams for comprehensive patient care
* Maintain detailed surgical documentation and ensure compliance with clinical governance and safety standards
* Participate in departmental audits, quality improvement initiatives, and specialist training programs
* Mentor junior medical staff and contribute to continuous education within the department
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree with specialization in Ophthalmology and advanced fellowship training in Oculoplastic Surgery
* Board Certification or equivalent consultant-level qualification in Ophthalmology and Oculoplastic Surgery
* Minimum 5 years of post-specialization experience in oculoplastic and orbital surgery
* Strong expertise in reconstructive, trauma, lacrimal, and aesthetic periocular procedures
* Proven experience in cosmetic oculoplastic services and minimally invasive facial rejuvenation treatments
* Excellent surgical precision, patient communication, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
* Experience within GCC healthcare systems is highly preferred
