Key Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive clinical evaluation, diagnosis, staging, treatment planning, and ongoing care for adult oncology patients.
* Manage outpatient and inpatient oncology services, including chemotherapy planning, treatment monitoring, follow-up care, and management of treatment-related complications.
* Lead and participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards, case reviews, and coordinated oncology care pathways.
* Collaborate with surgical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, radiology, palliative care, nursing, pharmacy, and allied health teams to deliver integrated cancer care.
* Apply international oncology guidelines, including NCCN, ESMO, ASCO, and other recognized evidence-based treatment standards.
* Support the use of advanced oncology treatment protocols, targeted therapies, immunotherapy approaches, and individualized patient care plans where appropriate.
* Monitor patient outcomes, review treatment response, adjust therapy when required, and ensure continuity of care across all stages of the patient journey.
* Maintain accurate clinical documentation, treatment records, consent forms, follow-up notes, and digital health workflows in line with hospital standards.
* Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, oncology audits, and service development activities.
* Contribute to departmental teaching, junior doctor training, continuous medical education, and knowledge-sharing across the oncology team.
* Support oncology program growth by improving care pathways, strengthening multidisciplinary communication, and maintaining high standards of patient-centered cancer treatment.
Ideal Profile
* Specialist or Consultant qualification in Oncology from a recognized training pathway.
* Accepted qualifications may include American Board, Canadian FRCSC, UK CCT, CESR, Australian Fellowship, New Zealand Fellowship, or Western-equivalent certification.
* Minimum 3-5 years of post-consultant experience is preferred.
* Valid medical license or eligibility for UAE healthcare licensing is required.
* Strong background in medical oncology, cancer diagnosis, chemotherapy planning, advanced treatment protocols, and long-term oncology patient management.
* Subspecialty interest in a specific oncology field is an advantage.
* Experience managing complex oncology cases within a tertiary care hospital or specialist cancer center is preferred.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to support patients and families through diagnosis, treatment decisions, and follow-up care.
* Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and multidisciplinary hospital environment.
