Role Context
This role is central to providing comprehensive ophthalmic services, improving patient vision outcomes, and enhancing clinical standards. The position supports both surgical and medical eye care while contributing to departmental growth and patient-centered service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and diagnose a broad range of ocular conditions
* Perform advanced ophthalmic surgeries including cataract, glaucoma, corneal, and retinal procedures based on subspecialty
* Manage acute and chronic eye diseases using evidence-based treatment plans
* Interpret diagnostic imaging such as OCT, fundus photography, visual fields, and ultrasound
* Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient care
* Collaborate with optometrists, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams for optimal outcomes
* Educate patients on eye health, treatment options, and preventive care
* Maintain accurate and compliant medical records
* Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and departmental meetings
* Mentor junior doctors, residents, and allied healthcare staff
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree with board certification in Ophthalmology
* Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in ophthalmic care
* Proven surgical expertise in relevant ophthalmology subspecialties
* Fluency in Arabic is mandatory with strong communication skills
* Eligibility for Saudi Commission for Health Specialties licensing
* Ability to work effectively in fast-paced and multicultural environments
