The consultant will provide outpatient and inpatient ophthalmology care, perform advanced reconstructive procedures, and support clinical quality through documentation, audits, research, teaching, and continuous professional development.

Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and manage ophthalmic, periocular, orbital, and oculoplastic conditions requiring reconstructive assessment or surgical intervention.
* Perform reconstructive ophthalmic surgeries including eyelid reconstruction, lacrimal procedures, orbital surgery, trauma reconstruction, and functional eyelid surgery.
* Evaluate and treat patients with orbital diseases, eyelid malpositions, periocular tumors, facial trauma, and tear drainage disorders.
* Provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient ophthalmology consultations for complex reconstructive and oculoplastic cases.
* Collaborate with ENT, maxillofacial surgery, plastic surgery, oncology, radiology, anesthesia, nursing, and other multidisciplinary teams.
* Develop individualized surgical and non-surgical treatment plans based on patient needs, functional goals, and clinical findings.
* Provide clear patient and family counseling on diagnosis, treatment choices, surgical procedures, risks, recovery, and postoperative care.
* Maintain accurate patient records and ensure documentation follows UAE healthcare regulations, facility protocols, and clinical governance standards.
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, research activities, departmental meetings, and continuing medical education programs.
* Support patient safety, ethical care, evidence-based practice, and continuous improvement in reconstructive ophthalmology services.
Ideal Profile
* MBBS or equivalent medical degree recognized for consultant-level ophthalmology practice.
* Board certification, fellowship, or equivalent specialist qualification in Ophthalmology.
* Subspecialty training in Oculoplastic or Reconstructive Ophthalmology.
* Valid UAE consultant license or eligibility for consultant-level ophthalmology licensing.
* Minimum 5-7 years of post-specialist experience in reconstructive ophthalmology and oculoplastic surgery.
* Strong expertise in advanced reconstructive, lacrimal, orbital, eyelid, and trauma-related surgical procedures.
* Experience in tertiary eye care or academic medical centers is preferred.
* Exposure to complex orbital and facial reconstructive surgeries is an advantage.
* Research and teaching experience is beneficial.
* Strong communication, patient-management, surgical planning, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a multicultural healthcare environment.
