Role Context
This position plays a vital role in ensuring safe anesthesia delivery for neonates, infants, and children undergoing surgical and diagnostic procedures. The role supports perioperative excellence, enhances patient safety, and contributes to multidisciplinary pediatric care and clinical governance within a high-performing hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive anesthesia care for neonates, infants, children, and adolescents across elective and emergency procedures
* Develop individualized anesthesia plans based on clinical assessment, surgical needs, and risk factors
* Monitor patients throughout preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases
* Manage post-anesthesia recovery and ensure safe patient outcomes
* Participate in pediatric emergency response and critical care teams including code blue situations
* Supervise and mentor junior anesthetists, residents, and fellows
* Contribute to departmental teaching programs and simulation training initiatives
* Support quality improvement programs and ensure adherence to clinical standards
* Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations
* Engage in clinical research and continuous medical education activities
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree with completed residency in Anesthesiology
* Fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology from a recognized institution
* Board certification such as American Board, UK CCT, Canadian FRCP, or equivalent
* 2–5 years of post-fellowship experience in pediatric anesthesia
* Eligible for consultant-level classification in relevant healthcare authorities
* Strong communication, teamwork, and crisis management skills
* Fluency in English; Arabic knowledge is an advantage
