Role Context
This role is essential to ensuring safe surgical outcomes for pediatric patients across a wide range of procedures. The Consultant will lead anesthesia planning and perioperative management, playing a key role in reducing surgical risks, supporting recovery, and enhancing overall patient safety in a multidisciplinary hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver anesthesia care for neonates, infants, children, and adolescents across elective and emergency procedures
* Develop individualized anesthetic plans based on clinical history and surgical requirements
* Monitor and manage patients throughout perioperative and recovery phases
* Support pediatric emergency response teams including critical care situations
* Supervise and mentor junior anesthetists, residents, and fellows
* Participate in clinical governance, audits, and quality improvement initiatives
* Contribute to teaching programs and simulation-based training
* Ensure compliance with clinical protocols and patient safety standards
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree with specialization in Anesthesiology
* Fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology from a recognized institution
* Board-certified such as American Board, UK CCT, or equivalent
* 2 to 5 years of post-fellowship experience in pediatric anesthesia
* Strong clinical decision-making and crisis management abilities
* Experience in pediatric or neonatal critical care settings preferred
* Eligible for UAE medical licensing
