Role Context
This role is central to delivering life-saving pediatric cardiac intensive care, ensuring optimal outcomes for critically ill children. The position supports advanced cardiac programs, enhances multidisciplinary coordination, and drives excellence in intensive care practices.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage critically ill pediatric cardiac patients including pre-operative stabilization and post-operative care
* Oversee treatment of congenital heart disease, arrhythmias, cardiomyopathies, and heart failure
* Utilize advanced life support technologies including ECMO, mechanical ventilation, and hemodynamic monitoring
* Lead multidisciplinary PCICU rounds and coordinate individualized care plans
* Interpret complex diagnostic data including echocardiography and advanced imaging
* Provide on-call coverage for pediatric cardiac emergencies
* Contribute to development of clinical protocols and quality improvement initiatives
* Collaborate with cardiologists, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and ICU teams
* Mentor junior physicians, fellows, and critical care staff
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree with board certification in Pediatric Critical Care, Cardiology, or Anesthesiology
* Fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care
* 8–10 years of consultant-level experience in a high-volume cardiac ICU
* Expertise in ECMO and complex congenital heart disease management
* Eligibility for DOH Abu Dhabi licensure
* Strong leadership and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
* Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage
