Consultant Pediatric Emergency - Acute Care in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is a senior Hospital and Health Care opportunity for an experienced pediatric emergency medicine physician with strong expertise in acute pediatric assessment, resuscitation, trauma care, and emergency stabilization. The role is suited for a consultant who can deliver rapid, safe, and compassionate care for infants, children, and adolescents while supporting departmental leadership, clinical governance, and multidisciplinary emergency services.
This position carries direct clinical impact in a high-pressure pediatric emergency environment. The consultant will manage urgent medical, surgical, trauma, respiratory, neurological, infectious, allergic, and dehydration-related emergencies while guiding junior doctors, coordinating with subspecialists, and helping improve pediatric emergency pathways.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert emergency assessment and treatment for infants, children, and adolescents presenting with acute medical, surgical, and trauma conditions.
* Manage pediatric emergencies involving respiratory distress, seizures, dehydration, infections, allergic reactions, pain, injury, and clinical deterioration.
* Lead pediatric resuscitation, including advanced airway management, vascular access, stabilization, and life-saving interventions.
* Perform emergency procedures such as lumbar puncture, fracture reduction, splinting, wound repair, procedural sedation, and other urgent pediatric interventions.
* Coordinate patient care with pediatric subspecialists, surgeons, intensivists, emergency physicians, nurses, and allied healthcare teams.
* Support safe and efficient patient flow within the Pediatric Emergency Department while maintaining high clinical standards.
* Contribute to pediatric emergency service development through updated guidelines, clinical pathways, protocols, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Participate in morbidity and mortality reviews, clinical audits, governance meetings, and patient safety programs.
* Mentor junior doctors, residents, fellows, and nursing staff through bedside teaching, supervision, and emergency case review.
* Communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, risks, and follow-up instructions clearly and compassionately to families.
* Promote a child-friendly and culturally sensitive emergency care environment.
* Support families during high-stress situations, urgent decision-making, and critical pediatric events.
* Participate in academic teaching, CME activities, clinical research, case presentations, conferences, and community health initiatives.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree such as MD, MBBS, or equivalent from a recognized institution.
* Board certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics with Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellowship, or Emergency Medicine with pediatric specialization.
* Recognized qualification such as American Board, Royal College, Arab Board, or an equivalent certification.
* Minimum 8-10 years of post-specialization experience, including consultant-level pediatric emergency practice.
* Strong clinical expertise in pediatric resuscitation, trauma care, acute illness management, emergency stabilization, and procedural pediatric care.
* Confident decision-making skills in high-acuity and time-sensitive clinical situations.
* Excellent communication, leadership, teamwork, and family engagement skills.
* Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary medical teams in a busy emergency department.
* Fluency in English is required, while Arabic language ability is an advantage.
* Strong commitment to clinical governance, ethical practice, patient safety, teaching, and continuous improvement.
