This position is essential in providing rapid, expert care for pediatric emergencies, improving clinical outcomes, and supporting efficient emergency department operations. The role contributes to clinical leadership, service development, and multidisciplinary collaboration within pediatric emergency medicine.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive emergency assessment and management for pediatric patients with acute medical, surgical, and trauma conditions
* Lead pediatric resuscitation efforts including airway management and life-saving interventions
* Perform emergency procedures such as lumbar puncture, fracture reduction, wound repair, and procedural sedation
* Manage critical cases including respiratory distress, seizures, infections, and allergic reactions
* Coordinate care with pediatric specialists, surgeons, and intensive care teams
* Ensure safe patient flow and efficient emergency department operations
* Contribute to development of clinical guidelines, pathways, and quality improvement initiatives
* Participate in clinical governance activities, audits, and case reviews
* Mentor junior doctors, residents, and nursing staff
* Communicate effectively with families, providing clear and compassionate guidance
* Engage in teaching, research, and professional development programs
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree from a recognized institution
* Board certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine or equivalent specialization
* 8–10 years of post-specialization experience including consultant-level practice
* Eligibility for DOH or HAAD consultant licensure
* Strong expertise in pediatric resuscitation, trauma, and emergency care
* Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
* Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage
