Role Context
This role plays a key part in strengthening pediatric endocrine services by delivering specialized care for chronic and complex hormonal conditions. It supports improved long-term patient outcomes, enhances clinical pathways, and contributes to service innovation within a tertiary-care environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and manage pediatric endocrine disorders including diabetes, thyroid disease, growth abnormalities, and metabolic conditions
* Conduct inpatient consultations across NICU, PICU, and pediatric units
* Manage outpatient clinics with long-term follow-up for chronic endocrine cases
* Interpret advanced endocrine testing, hormone studies, and diagnostic imaging
* Participate in multidisciplinary clinics such as diabetes, obesity, and genetic services
* Contribute to development of clinical protocols, pathways, and quality improvement programs
* Support governance activities including audits and morbidity reviews
* Mentor junior doctors, residents, and nursing teams
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree with specialization in Pediatrics and fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology
* Board certification such as American Board, Royal College, or equivalent
* 8–10 years of post-specialization experience at consultant level
* Eligibility for DOH Abu Dhabi licensure
* Expertise in managing complex endocrine and metabolic disorders in children
* Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration abilities
* Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage
