The Consultant Pediatric Endocrinologist plays a critical role in managing hormonal and metabolic disorders affecting infants, children, and adolescents. This position supports hospital excellence by improving long-term health outcomes for pediatric patients with diabetes, growth disorders, thyroid diseases, and other endocrine conditions while contributing to education, research, and service development.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide advanced pediatric endocrinology care for children with diabetes, thyroid disorders, growth disorders, adrenal diseases, pituitary disorders, obesity, and metabolic syndromes
* Conduct detailed examinations, establish diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based medical practice
* Interpret laboratory findings, hormonal assays, imaging studies, and diagnostic investigations to support accurate clinical decisions
* Manage inpatient and outpatient consultations for pediatric endocrine conditions requiring specialist intervention
* Offer expert consultation and clinical guidance to pediatricians, neonatologists, and hospital staff on complex endocrine cases
* Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning with dietitians, pediatric surgeons, radiologists, and critical care teams
* Contribute to medical research, academic publications, and departmental quality improvement initiatives
* Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and junior physicians within pediatric endocrinology services
* Maintain accurate medical documentation and ensure compliance with DHA regulations and hospital governance standards
* Build strong relationships with patients and families while promoting compassionate and family-centered care
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree from a recognized institution
* Board certification in Pediatric Endocrinology is essential
* Minimum five years of consultant-level experience in pediatric endocrinology
* Deep expertise in diagnosing and managing pediatric endocrine disorders
* Strong leadership, communication, and multidisciplinary teamwork abilities
* Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure clinical environments
* Fluent English communication with Arabic language skills considered an advantage
* Valid specialist licensing eligibility within UAE healthcare authority standards
* Western education or specialist training is strongly preferred
