Role Context
The Consultant Pediatric ENT Surgeon plays a critical role in diagnosing, treating, and surgically managing ENT disorders that affect children’s hearing, breathing, speech development, and overall wellbeing. This position supports early intervention, specialist surgery, and coordinated care to improve long-term pediatric health outcomes and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and manage congenital and acquired ENT disorders in infants, children, and adolescents
* Perform pediatric ENT surgical procedures including tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, tympanoplasty, endoscopic sinus surgery, and other specialist interventions
* Assess and treat hearing loss, chronic ear infections, airway disorders, speech-related ENT concerns, and sinus diseases
* Interpret audiograms, CT scans, MRI findings, and other diagnostic investigations for accurate clinical decision-making
* Provide expert consultations and second opinions for complex pediatric otolaryngology cases
* Collaborate closely with pediatricians, audiologists, speech therapists, and multidisciplinary specialists for comprehensive patient care
* Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with hospital policies and quality standards
* Participate in clinical audits, continuing medical education programs, and departmental case reviews
* Supervise and mentor junior doctors, residents, and medical students where applicable
* Educate families on diagnosis, surgery options, recovery plans, and preventive ENT care
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree with specialization in Otolaryngology and advanced pediatric ENT expertise
* Consultant-level qualification in Pediatric ENT is mandatory
* Minimum 5 years of Consultant-level pediatric otolaryngology experience in a reputable hospital
* Strong background in pediatric ENT surgery and patient-centered care
* Proven expertise in managing complex pediatric ENT conditions and surgical interventions
* Excellent communication skills with strong family counseling ability
* Strong leadership, clinical judgment, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
