Role Context
The Consultant - Pediatric ENT will provide expert care for children with congenital and acquired ear, nose, and throat disorders. The position supports accurate diagnosis, individualized treatment planning, surgical decision-making, family education, and ongoing follow-up for pediatric patients. The consultant will play an important role in improving outcomes for children with recurrent infections, hearing loss, speech and language concerns, tonsil and adenoid disease, airway issues, and other pediatric ENT conditions in Dubai.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive clinical evaluations for children presenting with ear, nose, throat, airway, hearing, sinus, tonsil, adenoid, and speech-related concerns.
* Diagnose and manage pediatric ENT conditions such as recurrent ear infections, tonsillitis, adenoid hypertrophy, hearing loss, speech-related disorders, sinus disease, and congenital abnormalities.
* Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient age, clinical condition, diagnostic findings, family needs, and evidence-based pediatric ENT practice.
* Perform pediatric ENT surgical procedures when required, including tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, ear procedures, sinus procedures, and other otolaryngology interventions.
* Provide specialist consultation and second opinions to pediatricians, family medicine doctors, audiologists, speech therapists, and other medical professionals.
* Monitor patient progress after medical or surgical treatment and adjust care plans according to clinical response.
* Interpret relevant diagnostic investigations, including audiology reports, endoscopic findings, imaging results, and laboratory tests when applicable.
* Collaborate with pediatricians, anesthesiologists, audiologists, speech and language therapists, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals to support coordinated care.
* Counsel parents and caregivers on diagnosis, treatment options, surgical risks, recovery expectations, prevention, and long-term follow-up.
* Maintain accurate medical records, consultation notes, operative reports, treatment plans, and follow-up documentation in line with hospital standards.
* Support patient safety, infection control, quality improvement, and evidence-based clinical practice within the pediatric ENT service.
* Contribute to departmental learning, case discussions, and professional development activities when required.
Ideal Profile
* Licensed physician with recognized specialization in Otolaryngology or ENT.
* Strong background in pediatric ENT care, with experience managing children across clinic, inpatient, and surgical settings.
* Western-trained education or professional experience is required.
* Minimum 5 years of experience as a Consultant Pediatric ENT in a reputable medical facility.
* Proven ability to diagnose and treat pediatric ear, nose, throat, hearing, speech-related, sinus, tonsil, adenoid, and airway conditions.
* Skilled in pediatric ENT procedures and confident in surgical decision-making when intervention is needed.
* Strong knowledge of current pediatric ENT practices, clinical protocols, and patient safety standards.
* Excellent diagnostic ability, problem-solving skills, and clinical judgment.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with children, parents, and multidisciplinary teams.
