Role Context
The Consultant - Pediatric ENT will provide expert care for children with airway abnormalities, recurrent ear infections, hearing disorders, sinus disease, tonsillar conditions, sleep-disordered breathing, congenital head and neck anomalies, and complex otolaryngology conditions. The role combines outpatient consultation, inpatient care, emergency airway support, surgical management, family counselling, accurate documentation, and collaboration with pediatricians, pulmonologists, speech therapists, audiologists, craniofacial surgeons, and other specialist teams in Dubai.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and manage pediatric ENT disorders, including airway abnormalities, recurrent otitis media, hearing disorders, sinus disease, tonsillar disease, sleep-disordered breathing, and congenital head and neck anomalies.
* Perform pediatric ENT procedures such as adenotonsillectomy, tympanostomy tube insertion, airway surgery, endoscopic procedures, and selected head and neck surgeries.
* Evaluate and manage pediatric airway emergencies, difficult airway presentations, and complex ENT conditions requiring urgent specialist input.
* Provide inpatient and outpatient consultations for infants, children, and adolescents requiring pediatric otolaryngology care.
* Develop individualized treatment plans and postoperative care pathways based on diagnosis, age, clinical condition, surgical findings, and family needs.
* Collaborate with pediatricians, pulmonologists, speech therapists, audiologists, craniofacial surgeons, anesthesiologists, radiologists, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
* Support care for children with complex airway, craniofacial, hearing, speech-related, sinus, tonsil, and congenital ENT conditions.
* Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, surgical procedures, expected recovery, long-term care, and warning signs.
* Maintain accurate consultation notes, surgical reports, consent documentation, treatment plans, follow-up records, and clinical correspondence.
* Ensure compliance with UAE healthcare regulations, hospital policies, infection control standards, patient safety requirements, and quality improvement protocols.
* Participate in clinical audits, research, teaching, morbidity reviews, continuing medical education, and departmental case discussions.
* Contribute to pediatric ENT service development, surgical pathway improvement, and multidisciplinary care coordination.
Ideal Profile
* MBBS or equivalent medical degree recognized by UAE healthcare authorities.
* Board certification, fellowship, or recognized specialist qualification in Otolaryngology or ENT.
* Subspecialty training or strong consultant-level experience in Pediatric ENT.
* Valid UAE Consultant License or eligibility in ENT or Otolaryngology.
* Minimum 5-7 years of post-board consultant experience in Pediatric ENT within a tertiary care or academic hospital.
* Strong expertise in pediatric airway management, endoscopic procedures, adenotonsillectomy, tympanostomy tube insertion, and pediatric ENT surgery.
* Experience in pediatric airway reconstruction and complex head and neck procedures will be an advantage.
* Exposure to multidisciplinary pediatric craniofacial, airway, hearing, and speech-related programs is preferred.
* Academic, research, teaching, audit, or CME involvement will strengthen the profile.
* Excellent surgical judgment, communication, documentation, family counselling, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a multicultural healthcare environment with children, families, and specialist clinical teams.
