Role Context
This Consultant Pediatric Hematologist position requires advanced knowledge of inherited and acquired blood disorders in children. The physician will assess complex cases, interpret hematology investigations, develop individualized treatment strategies, and oversee long-term clinical management.

Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and manage pediatric hematologic conditions, including anemia, hemophilia, sickle cell disease, and thalassemia.
* Evaluate platelet disorders, coagulation abnormalities, bone marrow failure syndromes, and other complex blood diseases.
* Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and review laboratory, pathology, genetic, and imaging findings.
* Develop individualized treatment plans based on each child\'s diagnosis, clinical condition, and long-term care needs.
* Prescribe and supervise transfusion therapy, iron chelation, immunotherapy, and other appropriate treatments.
* Monitor treatment response, disease progression, medication effects, and potential complications.
* Adjust clinical management plans according to patient outcomes and current evidence-based guidelines.
* Collaborate with pediatric oncologists, pathologists, geneticists, transfusion specialists, and multidisciplinary care teams.
* Provide clear information to parents and caregivers about diagnoses, treatment choices, risks, and expected outcomes.
* Educate families about medication adherence, symptom monitoring, preventive care, and long-term disease management.
* Deliver compassionate support to children and families throughout investigation, treatment, and follow-up.
* Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, tumor boards, clinical audits, and quality-improvement activities.
* Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records in accordance with DHA regulations and hospital policies.
* Contribute to continuing medical education programs, academic teaching, and relevant research activities.
* Support clinical governance, patient safety, ethical practice, and service-development initiatives.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree such as an MBBS, MD, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
* Completed specialist training in pediatrics and pediatric hematology.
* American Board certification, UK CCT, or another recognized equivalent qualification in Pediatric Hematology.
* Valid DHA Consultant licence or eligibility for consultant-level registration in Dubai.
* Minimum of 5 years of post-specialization experience in a tertiary hospital or academic healthcare setting.
* Proven expertise in diagnosing and treating complex pediatric hematologic disorders.
* Strong knowledge of anemia, hemophilia, sickle cell disease, thalassemia, and clotting abnormalities.
* Experience managing platelet disorders and bone marrow failure syndromes.
* Competence in transfusion medicine, iron chelation, immunotherapy, and long-term hematology care.
* Ability to interpret advanced hematology, coagulation, pathology, and genetic investigations.
* Excellent clinical judgement and evidence-based decision-making ability.
* Strong interpersonal, counselling, and family-communication skills.
