This role is ideal for a pediatric infectious disease consultant who can provide expert clinical care, support infection prevention, manage immunocompromised and post-transplant patients, and contribute to antimicrobial stewardship, research, and multidisciplinary pediatric care.

Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and manage pediatric infectious diseases, including viral, bacterial, fungal, parasitic, acute, chronic, recurrent, and complex infections.
* Provide consultant-level care for infants, children, and adolescents with severe infections, unusual presentations, fever of unknown origin, and complicated treatment needs.
* Interpret diagnostic tests such as cultures, PCR results, serology, inflammatory markers, imaging findings, and microbiology reports.
* Develop evidence-based treatment plans for acute and chronic infections, adjusting therapy according to clinical response, test results, and antimicrobial guidance.
* Provide consultative support for immunocompromised children, oncology patients, transplant patients, PICU cases, NICU cases, and children with complex medical conditions.
* Lead and support infection prevention and control initiatives across pediatric units, including outbreak response, isolation guidance, and safety protocols.
* Collaborate with pediatricians, microbiologists, intensivists, infection control teams, pharmacists, public health professionals, nurses, and allied health staff.
* Educate families on infection prevention, vaccination schedules, medication adherence, hygiene practices, disease transmission, and long-term care needs.
* Promote antimicrobial stewardship by supporting appropriate antibiotic use, resistance prevention, and evidence-based prescribing.
* Participate in clinical audits, CME programs, infectious disease research, departmental meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Maintain accurate clinical documentation, consultation notes, treatment plans, antimicrobial recommendations, follow-up reports, and family counseling records.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree from an accredited institution.
* Board certification in Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Diseases.
* Recognized certification may include American Board, Royal College, or equivalent specialist qualification.
* Minimum 5 years of post-specialization experience in a tertiary care or academic hospital setting.
* Eligible for DHA Consultant licensure in Dubai.
* Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills in pediatric infectious disease care.
* Experience managing complex infections, immunocompromised patients, post-transplant cases, antimicrobial therapy, and infection control programs.
* Excellent communication skills with a family-centered and culturally sensitive care approach.
* Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced pediatric healthcare environment.
