Role Context
This position is critical in providing intensive care management for critically ill children, supporting advanced treatment protocols, and ensuring the highest standards of patient safety. The role contributes to clinical leadership, service development, and continuous improvement within pediatric critical care services.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver expert care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
* Perform advanced procedures including mechanical ventilation, ECMO, and invasive monitoring
* Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress closely
* Collaborate with pediatricians, surgeons, nurses, and allied healthcare teams
* Lead multidisciplinary care coordination for complex medical and surgical cases
* Mentor junior physicians and contribute to clinical education programs
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain international care standards
* Engage in clinical research and continuous professional development activities
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree from a recognized institution
* Board certification in Pediatric Intensive Care or Pediatric Critical Care Medicine
* Western training from USA, UK, Canada, or equivalent is mandatory
* 3–5 years of post-board experience in a consultant PICU role
* Proven expertise in advanced pediatric critical care techniques
* Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
* Eligible for DHA consultant licensure in Dubai
