Position Overview
Consultant Pediatric Neuro-Oncologist - CNS Tumors in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is a senior Hospital and Health Care opportunity for an experienced physician specializing in pediatric central nervous system tumors, neuro-oncology treatment planning, pediatric oncology, and long-term care for children with complex brain and spinal tumor conditions. This role is suitable for a consultant-level specialist who can manage primary CNS tumors, treatment-related complications, survivorship care, and advanced multidisciplinary care pathways within a tertiary-care pediatric program.
The position requires strong clinical leadership, advanced knowledge of pediatric oncology and neuro-oncology, and the ability to coordinate care with pediatric neurology, neurosurgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology, radiology, pathology, rehabilitation, psychology, and social care teams. The selected consultant will contribute to service development, clinical protocols, tumor boards, research, academic teaching, and family-centered treatment planning for children and adolescents with complex neuro-oncologic conditions.

Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and manage pediatric CNS tumors, including medulloblastoma, ependymoma, gliomas, germ cell tumors, craniopharyngioma, and rare pediatric brain tumors
* Lead individualized treatment planning for children with complex neuro-oncology conditions using evidence-based pediatric cancer protocols
* Coordinate chemotherapy, targeted therapies, immunotherapies, radiotherapy planning, and surgical treatment pathways with specialist teams
* Collaborate with pediatric neurosurgeons, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, pediatric neurologists, rehabilitation specialists, psychologists, and social workers
* Manage treatment-related complications such as neurotoxicity, endocrinopathies, neurological decline, rehabilitation needs, and long-term survivorship concerns
* Provide inpatient and outpatient pediatric neuro-oncology consultations, including long-term follow-up for survivors
* Participate in tumor boards, multidisciplinary case discussions, complex care planning meetings, and shared decision-making forums
* Contribute to the strategic development of pediatric neuro-oncology services, clinical pathways, quality initiatives, and care protocols
* Mentor junior physicians, fellows, residents, nurses, and clinical staff involved in pediatric oncology and neuro-oncology care
* Communicate diagnoses, treatment options, prognosis, risks, and long-term care expectations clearly and compassionately to families
* Support psychosocial care through collaboration with child life specialists, psychologists, social workers, and family-support teams
* Participate in clinical trials, research initiatives, institutional review activities, case reports, publications, and academic conferences
* Teach medical students, residents, and fellows within the pediatric oncology and neuro-oncology program
* Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with DHA requirements, hospital policies, and clinical governance standards
Ideal Profile
The ideal candidate is a Consultant Pediatric Neuro-Oncologist with strong consultant-level experience in pediatric CNS tumor care, advanced therapies, survivorship management, and multidisciplinary oncology programs. This role requires excellent communication, leadership, clinical judgment, academic commitment, and the ability to guide families through highly sensitive and complex treatment journeys.
* Medical degree such as MD, MBBS, or equivalent from a recognized institution
* Board Certification in Pediatric Oncology, Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, or an equivalent recognized specialty
* Fellowship training in Pediatric Neuro-Oncology from a recognized center
* American Board, Royal College, Arab Board, or equivalent specialist qualification is preferred
* Minimum 8-10 years of post-specialization experience, including consultant-level practice
* Demonstrated expertise in managing complex CNS tumors, advanced therapies, and treatment-related complications
* Strong experience with chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, radiotherapy coordination, and neurosurgical treatment planning
* Experience in tertiary-care hospitals, pediatric oncology programs, or academic medical centers is preferred
* Strong leadership, family counseling, documentation, teaching, research, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
* Fluency in English is required, and Arabic language skills are an advantage
